Did you ever wonder why they call it a field trip? I guess it goes back to the "old” days when
the one room school house got a little crowded and the teacher decided they
needed some fresh air. So what did they
do?...
They went out into the field.
Of course, they could make it educational and all. They could require the kids to find a certain
plant or bird or whatever.
They could pull one of those "Sound of Music” field trips
and break out into song.
Hey, that's a good idea.
Next time you want to schedule a field trip… check with the
local farmer and ask if it would be OK if you brought the class into their
field for a chorus of "Do Ray Me.”
Or… you can consider some of the following:
5 School Field Trip
Ideas in Northern Virginia
1. The Children's Museum of Virginia
2. Colonial Williamsburg
3. Nauticus
4. Virginia Aquarium
5. Central Park Funland
It is just a hunch, but I am thinking they will be a bit
more excited about getting in a round of laser tag or racing around the track
on the go-karts.
They can try their hand in the arcade or test their strength
on the rock wall.
Either way, Central Park Funland offers a safe, fun place
for you to enjoy a class trip in Northern Virginia.
It is an easy way to reward the children and the teachers
for their hard work. Give the kids a
chance to run off some of that energy that they try their hardest (sometimes
not so successfully) to keep penned up in class.
Make this year's class trip a field trip they will
remember. And then, after the kids all
talk about how much fun it was… use it as a motivator next year to keep them in
line during school.
Consider Central Park Funland your "carrot.” Then you won't have to worry about using the
stick.
