Happy Belated New Year from Funland

Wow, I can't believe it's 2013, and I can't believe that January is almost over! For the past several years, each fall we begin to work on improving the park for the next season, and this year we've really gone into over drive. Here's a list of things that we've done at the park since last fall in preparation for 2013:

1. Removed our old Ticket Booth and installed a new Guest Services counter with LCD monitors.

2. Brought the Kiddie Ferris Wheel inside and refurbished, including an LED lighting package.

3. Lowered the price by 25% on our made-to-order pizzas with daily fresh baked dough.

4. Improved our Birthday Party Packages based on guest feedback.

5. Reconfigured the Play Zone Play Park.

6. Purchased THREE NEW OUTDOOR RIDES!!!

7. Added a spinning Tea Cup style ride indoors.

8. Continued to bring you the best selection of Arcade Games like Fruit Ninja and Connect Four.

There's so much new going on at the park, if you've here in the past few months, we thank you for your patience as we make our improvements. If you haven't been here in a while, you need to come check us out. I am confident that you'll like what we've done.

My Husband Chooses Central Park Funland For His Birthday

Birthday Party For Dad and the Kids. Really, His choice and He chooses Central Park Funland? A Grown Man choosing Funland for his Birthday? What a Great Idea This Turned Out to Be.

I have often accused my husband of being child like and have sometimes asked him if he thought he was 10 instead of 35. Well, I have proof now because he chose Central Park Funland for his birthday and wants to invite his buddies, all the kids and of course, all the spouses.

This has actually evolved into a big kids day out and the plans include getting unlimited passes so they can race the go-karts, play laser tag, have a miniature golf tournament and the ultimate batting cage challenge.

I just can’t wait to see if they choose to climb the rock wall. As they like to challenge each other, we will undoubtedly see them participate in a pac man championship, a video racing contest and finish off in the bumper cars. Because they want to include the children, we think the dads will be humbled by kids who know how to play Laser Tag, have driven the go-karts more often then their parents, who usually watch, can out play them in any video game and probably finish them off at mini bowling. We take a lot of the stress and work out so you can have more of the fun. Having a fun birthday party for your son or daughter doesn't have to be this much work. You can even make a party reservation at Central Park Fun Land online. The kids will have a blast with all of the rides, games, and attractions we have.

Party Planning Checklist

One Month Before:

1. Choose a theme for your party. Party themes make the party much more fun!

2. Create a guest list for your party. Pick the party date and what time it will start.

3. Order or buy party supplies and decorations. This may include balloons, streamers, banners, party favors, invitations, and partyware like plates, napkins, cups, etc.

2-3 Weeks Before:

1. Send out the invitations. Ask for RSVPs

2. Plan your menu, activities and games that you plan to use.

1 Week Before:

1. Contact the guests that have not responded.

2. Order or bake your cake. If you are having a cake, now is a good time to order your cake if you are not baking your own, otherwise bake it and freeze it.

3. Make or bake other items that can be made Before hand. This is a big time saver and should be done if possible. Store foods in the freezer.

2-3 Days Before:

1. Buy any remaining food or supplies for the party This includes film, videotape, candles and matches.

2. Check batteries for the camera or the camcorder.

3. Take out any food you have made ahead of time from the freezer. This allows sufficient time for the food to defrost.

1 Day Before:

1. Finalize the cake. Either decorate it if you made it or pick it up if you ordered it.

2. Complete all food. Child-proof the area so the party is safe for little ones.

3. Decorate any indoor area.

4. Prepare any food and beverages that can be prepared the day before.

The Big Day:

1. Decorate any outdoor areas. Do this early in the day, unless there is threat of rain or it is windy.

2. Prepare foods and beverages that could not be made ahead of time.

3. Decide where the gifts should go. If this is a birthday party, have a table or some designated area for the gifts.
